Deny permission for a "Pop Up Owl Bar"

It has come to our attention that this so called "Pop Up Owl Bar" is to take place in London for a week in March 2015.

The International Owl Society, its members, other Owl & Bird of Prey Keepers, and other like-minded individuals cannot condone such an "event" to take place.

It is not in the best interest whatsoever of the Owls that shall have to endure such an environment. Owls, as many of you will know, can become stressed ever-so-easily. And this will undoubtebly happen at this "event". This is not about educating the public or the welfare and conservation of Owls.

A petition has been setup via Change.Org. If you, like us at the Society and so many other people, feel that this should not be allowed to take place, please click on the link below and sign the petition which will hopefully stop this from taking place.

Thank you and Kind Regards,
The International Owl Society

Best Regards and Wishes to Mark Whittaker

Mark Whittaker has resigned from his position as a Council Member of The IOS as he has now moved on to College to take on his Teachers Training Course.

On behalf of all on the Council and members of the Society, I would like to wish him all the best in his new adventure.

He will be sorely missed for his vast expertise, knowledge and understanding of Owls.

He's still going to be around so I'm sure he'll pop up now and again.

All the best Mark and thanks for all your input over the few years you have been on the Council.
